Whimsical Ideas by Pam's Once Upon A Time

My first whimsy! This is Once Upon A Time from her Halloween collection. How could I say no to this one when my fav 2 colors are involved?! In addition, I had Essie Navigate Her and Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac sitting right in front of my when this cutie came in, so I couldn't resist. Just a quick pic. It's blurry but its so pretty! And I figured I'd write up a quick post because Whimsical Ideas By Pam shared it on their page! (Thanks again Pam!!) So it must not be too shabby. This polish is a dream to apply and to wear. Here it is!

Serum No5's Shrinking Violet

It's been a while! I haven't had a day off in ELEVEN days. That's too long. So now I'm sick and stuck at home, what better to do than blog? So here go's.
This polish I love for a number of reasons. Lavender? Check. Glitter? Check. Beautiful? Check. Reference to one of my favorite movies? Check. The formula on this one was basic. Dry time was not too long but not instant. The consistency was store-bought quality. AKA very smooth and no issues! No digging for glitter, it just applied naturally and turned out (I think) very well. Here it is, tell me what you think!

Bonus pic! I love having different manis on either hand.

Lucky 13's Ragdoll

Here's the third in a series of 4 polishes from Lucky 13 Lacquer. The collection is inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Today's polish is Ragdoll. Inspired by Sally, this polish more than any of the others truly captures the character in a bottle. Described by Lucky 13 Lacquer as: "Medium turquoise, yellow, lavender, and shiny gunmetal hex along with ultra-fine brown square glitters, like Sally's dress," . Google produced me with terrible grainy photos  from the movie itself so here is a toy model of her. :)

And here is the polish! This will be great for next spring, it would probably look very cute over white! Ragdoll is my favorite of the collection! Awesome formula, amazing glitters, easy application, and most importantly, it looks just like Sally. Excuse the tip-wear! This mani was well-loved before photographing!

 2 coats, 2 coats, 1 coat.

How many times have you seen the movie?

Fairy Nails!

While you guys were entering my new giveaway, I painted my nails! (Big surprise, right?) Well here they are. Don't you think they look like what a fairy might wear?
The star of the show, Color Club's "Sugarplum Fairy". A scattered holo glitter that desperately wants to be a linear.

 Blurred 'cause rainbows. :)
Seche Retain, Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy (obviously I went with "to buy"), Color Club Sugarplum Fairy, and Insta-Dri Clearly Quick.
The weather and my camera were collaborating to bring you these terribly misrepresenting photos.

WHERE ARE MY RAINBOWS? Stupid cloud cover.
 See it's almost linear....
There's the rainbows. :)

Lime Crime

I'm going to take a minute to post about makeup! After all, this is my blog and I do what I want :) My vision of this blog is it being a place for me to post whatever I feel necessary... and this is quite necessary. This post is about Lime Crime makeup. They're a brand that really means quite a bit to me. They make the most beautiful cosmetics. Strange and unique colors, finishes, and textures. They are most well known for their lipsticks. Glossy and ultra-pigmented, opaque, and free of aging shimmer. In February they started releasing eyeshadow palettes. I bought the Palette D'Antoinette, and I absolutely adore it. Their pastel shades are not in the least bit chalky. They are silky and smooth, and over LC's Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Primer, they really just pop. They are the strangest pastels, as they have neon notes. They apply like a dream and the high pigment content makes it easy to use them sparingly. Oh yeah, and all of their products (except the primer, which contains beeswax) are VEGAN! Yay! Well here are some visual aides, you'll see what I mean about how awesome they are!!
A guide to what will work well with your skin tone!

The newest palette, mermaid theme!

This is the one I have. Stunning!

The China Doll palette. Very bold colors.

And the nail polish. More pastels, woo!

They also carry sparkly lip glosses, new liquid eyeliners, and will soon start carrying "face" products, though they are being very secretive about those! :)

Candy Lacquer's "Pastel Confetti"

This little cutie is coming to you as Indie Week Post #3. It's a mix of many different shapes and sizes, all in these pretty pastel shapes. If you love glitter, or pastels, or both, this is a really great polish. I saw a swatch of this and asked the store owner if there was a way I could ensure that I'd be able to get a bottle when they opened, and she listed a bottle for me then so I could buy it. So nice! She's no longer doing special orders but I was glad that I didn't miss out by not being on the computer at just the right time! Absolutely zero formula issues. Just a great polish. Bottle shot borrowed from Candy Lacquer's Etsy site (although mine doesn't have bar glitter or black glitter? Hm.):

I did this mani while at a birthday party today so its not super neat (you probably will never see a mani of mine that IS neat. Haha, my camera is so good that it sees stuff the human eye won't pick up right away) and also my cuticles are ugggggllyyy. But no excuses. Judge me if you'd like. The birds are out this evening chirping, it's nice. :) Here are pics.
Polishes used were (in order of application): Seche "Retain" (basecoat), Wet n Wild  #402 "Tickled Pink", Candy Lacquer "Pastel Confetti", and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri #110 "Clearly Quick" as a glossy topcoat.
Later gators.

Rainbow Honey's "The Worst Possible Thing"

This is my favorite nail polish. I have around 200, and this is my favorite of them all. It's the daintiest thing, blues and purples and sparkles. But when you put it over black and you get this super edgy, super blingy look. Over black, it's almost like instant galaxy nails. It's really quite mesmerizing, I could spend a good hour or two staring at my nails. For this mani/swatching, I've also included it over a light purple to showcase how different this polish can look. Here you go folks, Rainbow Honey's "The Worst Possible Thing", which is based on Rarity of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. Any Bronies out there? No? Okay.

For this look I used Wet n Wild "Black Creme", NYC "271 Extra Shiny Topcoat", Seche "Retain" (basecoat), Rainbow Honey "The Worst Possible Thing", and Revlon "211 Charming".
Look daisies. :)

Elevation Polish "Avalanche"

So the first swatches of Indie Intro Week and also my blogging career are of Elevation Polish's "Avalanche" Described on their website as "10 different types of holographic glitter. Big and small blended together. large diamond, large hex, medium hex, small hex, holographic microglitters." So pretty much, super holographia! I love all things holographic and if it just so happens to be glitter in nail polish, then so be it. Here is a bottle shop from their site.
Gorgeous, right? Right. Here are my swatches, they are over Zoya Wednesday of the Beach Collection. Accent nail base color is Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac. These are 2 coats of Avalanche. Don't mind my ugly cuticles and chipped color. This was just me messing around! :) Also, I wasn't able to fully capture the holographicness of this polish but let me assure you, it is blinding.
Ooo, artsy.

Daisy patches have popped up in the lawn, I love them!

And finally, we have a macro of my thumb nail,
So holographic!

This concludes my first swatching. Thanks for reading!
